The Panther Hoops squad got their preseason officially started with a scrimmage against Medina Buckeye and Edison High school last week on Wednesday Nov 9th at the Coliseum. In the first scrimmage, EC won 6 out of the 7 quarters played versus Buckeye and Edison and Coach Kuchta was pleased overall with the effort of the young panther team. "I feel like we got off on the right foot this year, We weren't sharp at times but I am happy with our effort and intensity on both ends of the floor. The kids have been working extremely hard in practice and I can't ask for a better group of young men".
Saturday morning the boys traveled to Avon Lake to take on the Shoremen along with Cuyahoga Falls. Although both schools are much bigger, the panthers competed well and more than held their own against the other schools. The highlight of the scrimmage came when John Stursa Hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to beat Avon Lake in the final quarter 12-11. EC Boys Basketball will be back in preseason action this coming Friday when the Panthers host an old North Coast League rival Trinity high school and North Olmsted high school at 5:30pm.
